Down by the lake on Wednesday morning, the local radio controlled model club were having a peaceful morning sailing (mainly) yachts. Which reminded me of seeing such scenes in towns and villages as a teenager.
Hellebore
Winter / early spring flowers are beginning to appear and in some cases flowering. Snowdrop’s are in full bloom, occasional clumps of crocuses are blooming. Early daffodils such as February Gold are a welcome sight.
Double yellow primrose
Primroses and polyanthus are coming into flower in local gardens, earlier today I also saw large naturalised plants of violets.
Old Wanderings
the sun’s rays “dancing” on the River Medway following a storm.
The miniature world of Mosses, they are beginning to produce new foliage and grow there spore laden spikes.
The Alder Tree catkins will soon be dispersing pollen. Hazelnut catkins are already producing pollen and during yesterday’s Pussy willow are becoming visible.
St. Mary’s Bridge
Unexpectedly the forecast sleet turned into snow, earlier today, the large fluffy type.
Today’s unexpected winter wonderland.
Thank you
