Wandering Discoveries
January 2026
Digital wanderings - waves
Following a very dry 2025, Mother Nature appears to be rebalancing things with a very wet January.
However on January 5th I woke to discover approximately five inches of snow, the snow washed away 48 hours later.
Sunset on the 5-01-26
The temperatures remained cold and the ice remained on the lakes until the following weekend.
The swan was preventing the terns from leaving the sheet of ice.
A bunch of tulips, grown locally, provided a splash of colour indoors.
I met this character when I visited Jimmys farm. A English goat, who was keen that I photographed his “good side”!
A double primrose…
A juvenile grey heron was stalking something in the reeds.
“Gone Fishing” a very organised fisherman.
A model boat club also uses the lake, this is a replica of the RNLI deep water rescue boat.
I regularly see this Robin who’s very protective of a length of hedge way, which is part of his / her territory.
The “sea thistle” a dried plant I discovered by the keel of a yacht.
The common reed at sunset.
I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you
